He had been contemplating it for some time as a persistent hip injury proved stubborn in cooperating. But now according to multiple reports WR Percy Harvin has made the decision to retire from football.
That according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Pro Football Talk.

Harvin’s decision was a difficult one knowing careers typically do not end at the age of 27. But the wide receiver’s body simply would not allow him to endure the rigors and demands of the NFL game. He appeared in just five games for the Bills last season before his hip injury sent him to the sidelines for the remainder of the season.
The receiver tried everything to manage his hip injury from taking days off from practice to platelet rich plasma injections to promote faster healing. None of it proved effective and Harvin apparently determined he did not want to try to make a go of it and try to reboot his career in 2016.
