The Seahawks made a roster move Tuesday, signing long snapper Nolan Frese, an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Houston. Linebacker Khairi Fortt was waived to make room on the 90-man roster.
Frese, who spent rookie minicamp with the Carolina Panthers, was the starting long snapper for the Cougars for three seasons, and per the school’s website, did not have an inaccurate snap on 156 attempts last season. Frese, who is listed at 6-foot-2, 233 pounds, was named a third-team All-American by Chris Sailer Kicking & Rubio Long Snapping.
Frese and Drew Ferris, another offseason addition, will compete in training camp for the long-snapping job that was held by Clint Gresham from 2010 to 2015.
Fortt, a former fourth-round pick out of the University of California, signed with Seattle in May after previously spending time with New Orleans, Cincinnati and Jacksonville over the past two seasons.
Team Release.
