Rams RB Todd Gurley, Panthers DE Julius Peppers and Rams K Greg Zuerelin named NFC Players of Week 4

Running back Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams, defensive end Julius Peppers of the Carolina Panthers and kicker Greg Zuerlein of the Los Angeles Rams are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 4 (September 28, October 1-2).

Gurley accumulated 215 yards from scrimmage in Dallas, leading Los Angeles in both rushing and receiving. He finished with 23 carries for 121 yards — marking his first back-to-back games with at least 100 yards rushing since Week 7 and Week 8 of 2015 — and seven receptions for 94 yards. The Georgia product caught a 53-yard touchdown in the third quarter, the longest reception of his young career.

Peppers finished the game with two sacks, three quarterback hurries and four total tackles. This season, Peppers has recorded a team-high 4.5 sacks, ranking third in the NFC and fifth in the NFL overall. The nine-time Pro Bowler is Carolina's all-time leader in sacks with 85.5. He has the most sacks of any active NFL player with 148.0 career sacks, and is just 2.5 sacks from tying Chris Doleman for fourth all-time in NFL history.

Zuerlein has been named NFC Special Teams player of the Week after accounting for 23 points on Sunday, with two extra points accompanying his seven field goals. Zuerlein’s field goals came from 49, 44, 44, 30, 28, 43, and 33-yards out. He has made all 28 of his attempted kicks this season — 14 field goals, and 14 extra points, leading the league in both categories. He currently leads the league with 56 points scored, just ahead of No. 2 teammate Todd Gurley who has 42. Zuerlein has converted his last 18 field goal attempts dating back to last year. It’s Zuerlein’s fourth Player of the Week award, having previously received the honor in Week 4 of 2012, Week 13 of 2012, and Week 11 of 2014.
