Ingram, Collins, Lockett named NFC Players of Week 11

​Running back Mark Ingram of the New Orleans Saints, safety Landon Collins of the New York Giants and kick returner-wide receiver Tyler Lockett of the Seattle Seahawks are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 11 (November 16, November 19-20).

Ingram led the Saints in rushing in the team's 34-31 thrilling overtime victory over Washington with 11 carries for a season-high 134 yards with one touchdown. Ingram recorded the longest run of the day with a 36-yard touchdown run. Ingram also surpassed 5,000 career rushing yards becoming only the second Saint to do so. Ingram's two runs in overtime set up Wil Lutz's game-winning field goal.

Collins led the Giants with a career-high 14 tackles (10 solo) and intercepted his second pass of the season. He had nine tackles (seven solo) and the interception in the second half and overtime.

Lockett piled up 197 yards on five kick returns, which was not only a career high for him, but the fifth highest single-game total in franchise history behind Leon Washington (253), Maurice Morris (231), Washington again (222) and Charlie Rogers (198). That was also the highest kick return total in a game since the NFL moved the touchback on kickoffs from the 20 to the 25-yard line in order to discourage returns.

Redskins QB Kirk Cousins, Giants S Landon Collins and Lions K Matt Prater named NFC Players of Month for November

Quarterback Kirk Cousins of the Washington Redskins, safety Landon Collins of the New York Giants and kicker Matt Prater of the Detroit Lions are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Month for November.

In three games in the month of November, Cousins completed 84-of-116 passes (72.4 percent) for 1,086 yards with eight touchdowns and no interceptions for a passer rating of 124.4. His 362.0 passing yards per game led all NFL quarterbacks in the month of November.

In four November games, all Giants victories, Collins had 30 tackles (23 solo), including a sack, and three interceptions. Collins’ outstanding performance against the Eagles earned him his second consecutive NFC Defensive Player of the Week Award. He was the first Giants player to win player of the week awards in successive games, the first defensive player to win player of the week awards in consecutive games since Chicago cornerback Charles Tillman in 2012, and the first safety since Pittsburgh’s Troy Polamalu in 2010.

Prater tied for a conference-best eight made field goals and led the NFC with six 40 yard field goals in November. He was 3-for-3 on game-tying or game-winning field goals with less than 2 minutes to play, helping the Lions to a 3-0 record in the month. He earned a pair of NFC Special Teams Player of the Week Awards (Weeks 9 and 12) in November after converting a pair of game-tying field goals occurred in wins against the Minnesota Vikings that helped propel Detroit into first place in the division.

Packers WR Davonte Adams, Giants S Landon Collins and Eagles KR Josh Huff named NFC Players of Week 7

Wide receiver Davonte Adams of the Green Bay Packers, safety Landon Collins of the New York Giants and kick returner Josh Huff of the Philadelphia Eagles are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the seventh week of the 2016 season (October 20, 23-24).

The second-year pro had two interceptions that directly led to 14 points, returning one pick for a touchdown and setting up the game-winning score with the other in the Giants' game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams in London. Collins also contributed a game-high eight solo tackles in the Giants’ 17-10 victory over Los Angeles in Twickenham Stadium.

Last Thursday vs. Chicago at Lambeau Field, Adams caught 13 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Those were career highs in all categories. Moreover, his 13 receptions tied him for second in the franchise record book for a single game. Don Hutson caught 14 and 13 passes in a pair of games back in 1942.

The Eagles had just fallen behind the Vikings 3-0 on Sunday afternoon, and that’s when Huff stepped up to make perhaps the biggest play of the game, running back the ensuing kickoff 98 yards to put the Eagles on the board for the first time. The return marked the first time in franchise history that the Eagles returned kickoffs for touchdowns in back-to-back weeks, after Wendell Smallwood ran a kick back the week before in Washington. The award is Huff’s second-career Player of the Week honor (Special Teams Player of the Week vs. Tennessee in 2014). He joins Carson Wentz (Offensive Player of the Week in Week 3 and Offensive Rookie of the Month in September) and Fletcher Cox (Defensive Player of the Month in September) among the list of Eagles to receive hardware this season.
