Mario Edwards Jr. |
Lotulelei has played in 18 games over his career with the Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars. He was originally signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in April 2013. He played in two games in 2013 for Seattle before being waived and picked up by Jacksonville, appearing in 12 games for the Jaguars. He spent the entire 2014 season on the Jaguars’ Reserve/Injured List before playing in two games earlier this season with the team. The Raiders signed him to their practice squad on Nov. 25.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders have placed DE Mario Edwards Jr. on the Reserve/Injured List.
"He had a significant injury," coach Jack Del Rio told reporters. "We want to make sure we do what's best for him first. Just hoping for the best. But (we're) really most concerned with him right now. Other things going forward, we'll worry about that later. But it's significant, what he has."
Asked if the pass rusher would require surgery, Del Rio said: "I'm not sure of that. I think they're still trying to determine how the treatment should proceed."
