The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Thursday that they have waived LB Trevor Roach, opening a roster spot for LB Vontaze Burfict, whose roster exemption expires today.
Roach was on the Bengals' practice squad for Games 1-16 in 2015., and was signed to the team's active roster on Jan. 4 and had a special teams tackle in Wild Card playoff on 1-9-16 vs. Pittsburgh. He played in all four preseason games (one start), ranking fifth on team in tackles (12).
In 2015, Burfict did not practice or play in the preseason, and on Sep. 5, was placed on the Reserve/PUP list. He rejoined practice on Oct. 29, and was activated to roster on Oct. 31. He started Games 7-16, with 74 tackles (third on team), one sack, two INTs and five total passes defensed.
