Wide receiver Stefan Diggs of the Minnesota Vikings, cornerback Marcus Cooper of the Arizona Cardinals and cornerback Janoris Jenkins of the New York Giants are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the second week of the 2016 season (September 15, 18-19).
Diggs earned his honor after leading the NFL with 182 receiving yards on nine receptions (both career highs) in Minnesota’s Week Two victory over division-rival Green Bay. He becomes the ninth different Viking to earn NFC Player of the Week honors under head coach Mike Zimmer.
Jenkins scored the Giants’ only touchdown in their 16-13 victory over New Orleans on Sunday when he scooped up a blocked field goal and returned it 65 yards for the score. Wil Lutz’s 38-yard attempt was blocked by Johnathan Hankins. The touchdown broke a scoreless tie with 2:30 remaining in the second quarter.
Cooper earned the honor after having two interceptions for 83 yards along with seven total tackles.
