Quarterback Trevor Siemian of the Denver Broncos, cornerback Marcus Peters of the Kansas City Chiefs and punter Ryan Allen of the New England Patriots are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the third week of the 2016 season (September 22, 25-26).
Siemian, a second-year quarterback helped lead the Broncos to a 29-17 win over the Bengals on the road behind his four touchdowns, 312 yards and zero interceptions. Siemian also recorded a 132.1 quarterback rating for the game.
Peters earned the award for his game against the New York Jets, during which he had two interceptions off of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, the first of which led to Kansas City’s only offensive touchdown of the game. Peters intercepted Fitzpatrick again in the fourth quarter.
Allen punted seven times for 333 yards (47.6 average) and placed six of his punts inside the opponent 20-yard line. He placed punts at the 11, 10, 10, 14, 5 and 4-yard lines while limiting the Texans to zero punt return yards. His only punt that did not land inside the 20 was downed at the 20-yard line. Ryan’s previous best was five punts inside the opponent 20-yard line on Oct. 6, 2013, at Cincinnati.
