Patriots QB Tom Brady, Bills CB Nickell Robey-Coleman and Colts K Adam Vinatieri named AFC Players of Week 5

Tom Brady was named AFC Offensive Player of the
Week for Week 5 of the 2016 NFL season on
Wednesday.
Quarterback Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman of the Buffalo Bills and kicker Adam Vinatieri of the Indianapolis Colts are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the fifth week of the 2016 season (October 6, 9-10).

Brady completed 28-of-40 passes for 406 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the victory at Cleveland. It was his eighth career 400-yard game and first since he passed for 466 yards at Buffalo on Sept. 20, 2015. Brady finished with his 72nd career 300-yard game in the regular season, third in NFL history to the 98 by Drew Brees and 93 by Peyton Manning.

Robey-Coleman had the game-turning interception return for a touchdown in the win over the Rams last week at the L.A. Coliseum. He also had a second INT in the waning seconds to seal the victory, Buffalo’s third in a row.

Vinatieri tied his single-game career-high with five field goals, which he set on three other occasions. The last came against Tennessee on Dec. 1, 2013. He also tied his single-game career-high in points (17), which he previously set at Buffalo on Nov. 14, 2004. With the five field goals made, Vinatieri improved his streak of consecutive field goals made to 38. His streak currently ranks second in franchise history, third in NFL history and is the longest active streak in the NFL.
