The New England Patriots traded star linebacker Jamie Collins to the Cleveland Browns for a compensatory third-round pick on Monday, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Collins was drafted 52nd overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Patriots. He has one sack and two interceptions in seven games played in 2016. He started six of those seven games.
In 2015, Collins earned his first career Pro Bowl selection and was named to the Associated Press All Pro: Second Team. He started all 12 regular-season games he played and led the defense with 90 tackles and set career highs with 5½ sacks and five forced fumbles, which tied for the team’s single-season record. He also had an interception, returned a fumble for his first career touchdown and blocked an extra point.
