Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins could be able to return at some point late this season after a meeting with Dr. Robert Anderson determined that he will not require a second foot surgery, NFL Network's Ian Rapport reports.
Watkins has been battling pain in his surgically repaired foot since the season opener at Baltimore. He played just four days after the opener in the Bills Thursday night game against the Jets on Sept. 15th, but has not been on the practice field since.
Watkins was placed on the team's Injured Reserve list on Sep. 30, and in a corresponding move, the team signed free agent receiver Justin Hunter.
Watkins played and started in 13 games accumulating 60 receptions for 1,047 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2015. He also tallyed his first ever 1,000 yard recieving year.
